This weekend’s blizzard was the 2nd largest to hit NYC in terms of snowfall since 1869. Snowfall in Central Park was measured at 26.8″, just a tenth of an inch short of tying the all-time record. The travel ban for NYC and Long Island, and the PANYNJ facilities, has been lifted. Alternate side of the street parking is suspended through Tuesday. Elevated subway, surface bus service are operating again; Metro-North resumes around noon, but the LIRR remains suspended, and there are scattered delays and service changes; consult the MTA website for details. NJ Transit service also remains suspended. NYC schools WILL be open on Monday. Flights into and out of the NY-area airports remain substantially curtailed; consult with your airline to determine the status of your flight. Also check with your carrier if you are planning a bus trip into or out of the Port Authority Bus Terminals.
